For solo attorneys
Practice management for one lawyer, built to run like a team.
SoloMatter keeps every matter moving. Intake, tasks, time, billing and documents live in one place and use the Google Drive and Square accounts you already have. No seats to buy, no modules you will never open, and an AI paralegal that drafts while you decide.
We will email you once when early access opens. Nothing else.
What it does
The parts of practice management a solo actually uses.
A matter pipeline that moves
Six stages from new to closed. Every matter shows what happens next, who it is waiting on, and when it is due, because the tasks drive the board rather than the other way round.
Client intake with no setup
Send a link. The client fills in an intake form for their matter type, uploads documents and signs the engagement letter. You review and approve. No portal to configure.
A client portal they will use
Clients see their matter status, open tasks, documents you have shared and invoices. They log in with a code from their email. No passwords to reset.
Time and billing through your Square
Start a timer in one click. Approve entries, build the invoice, and send it. Payment runs through your own Square account, so the money lands in your bank, not ours.
Documents in your Google Drive
Every matter gets a standard folder tree in your Drive. Files you upload, files clients send, and email attachments all land in the right folder. You own the files, always.
An AI paralegal that drafts, not decides
Summarizes incoming client email, drafts replies and documents from your templates, and flags possible conflicts. Everything client-facing waits for your approval. Coming after launch.
Also included: a simple website for your firm, email and calendar sync with Google Workspace, and an audit log of every change.

Who makes it
SoloMatter is built by Develotype LLC in Ohio. It grew out of software written for one solo practice and is now being readied for others. It is the first product from Solo Is Now a Team, which is building the same idea for accountants, consultants and designers.
